    China suspends steel capacity replacement plans

    China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has demanded that all regions suspend issuing new iron and steel capacity replacement plans from August 23 as the ministry works to revise the capacity-swap policy.

    There are still problems such as inadequate policy implementation, imperfect supervision and implementation mechanisms, and incompatibility with the industry's development situation and needs, the ministry said in a statement, adding that it would accelerate research to develop new measures.
