Yongfeng Lingang to build 3Mtpa iron and 2.75Mtpa steel project

In accordance with relevant guidelines and implementation measures issued by the State Council, the iron and steelmaking capacity replacement scheme by Shandong Iron & Steel Group Yongfeng Lingang Corp. has been released by the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province for public disclosure until August 30, 2024.
The company plans to build a 3770 cubic-meter blast furnace with ironmaking capacity of 3.02Mtpa and a 280-ton rotary furnace with steelmaking capacity of 2.75Mtpa, which are scheduled to become operational in December 2025.
As part of the capacity replacement, Weifang Special Steel Group Co., Ltd. will shut down four existing furnaces, including two blast furnaces with total ironmaking capacity of 2.33Mtpa and two rotary furnaces with combined steelmaking capacity of 2.85Mtpa, and Shandong Fulun Steel Co., Ltd. will close a blast furnace with ironmaking capacity of 500,000tpa.
