Fugu sees 11.2% increase in Q1 magnesium production

China's Fugu county saw a total production value from industrial enterprises above designated size of RMB29.23 billion (USD4.05 billion) in the first quarter of 2024, down by 10.6% from the year ago period, with the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size up by 9.8%, according to the local statistics bureau.
In Q1 2024, Fugu produced about 21.99 million tonnes of raw coal, up by 4.5% YoY, 3.37 million tonnes of washed coal, down by 7.4% YoY, 2.23 million tonnes of semi-coke, down by 1.8% YoY, 86,300 tonnes of calcium carbide, down by 30.4% YoY, 180,700 tonnes of ferroalloys, down by 12.9% YoY, and 128,400 tonnes of magnesium metal, up by 11.2% YoY.
