Jiangte Motor obtains mining license for Xikeng lithium mine

Jiangxi Special Electric Motor Co., Ltd. (Jiangte Motor) has been granted the mining licence for Xikeng lithium mine located in Yifeng, Jiangxi from the Ministry of Natural Resources.
The mining license, which is valid until April 2054, allows the company to mine 3 million tonnes per annum of lithium ore through open-pit mining method at Xikeng lithium mine, covering a mining area of around 1.38 sq. km.
Xikeng lithium mine has mineral reserves of 72.93 million tonnes at 0.44% Li2O, with the average grade above 0.55% in some parts of the deposit. At 0.39% Li2O, the total mineral reserves reaches 126.67 million tonnes, making Xikeng a large-sized lithium mine.
This 30-year mining licence for lepidolite-hosting Xikeng lithium mine is the first of its kind granted by the the Ministry of Natural Resources. When put into operation, Xikeng mine is expected to significantly increase Jiangte Motor's self-sufficiency rate of lithium ore, cut production cost and boost profit margin.
