BEIJING (Asian Metal) 29 Apr 24 - As prices of antimony ingot keep increasing recently, most suppliers of antimony concentrate hold back from selling and stay with bullish attitudes. Currently, the mainstream prices of Chinese antimony concentrate 50%min increase to RMB88,000-90,000/mt (USD12,144-12,420/mt) EXW D/P, up by RMB2,000/mt (USD276/mt) from late last week. Considering that supply keep tight and most suppliers hold strong intentions to keep their prices firm, insiders predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese antimony concentrate 50%min would increase further in the coming week.
A consumer in South China disclose that they fail to purchase any antimony concentrate 50%min at prices below RMB90,000/mt (USD12,420/mt) EXW D/P now and even for firm bids, most suppliers even hold back from selling now as prices keep upward trend. The consumer added, "We last purchased about 200t of antimony concentrate 50%min at around RMB80,000/mt (USD11,040/mt) two weeks ago. And prices we received last week stand at around RMB88,000/mt(USD12,144/mt), while most suppliers refuse to sell at such prices this week". The consumer add that they even receive the offer of RMB94,000/mt (USD12,972/mt) from one of their suppliers. They predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese antimony concentrate 50%min would increase further in the coming week.
With an annual consumption capacity of 20,000t of antimony concentrate 50%min, the consumer used about 18,000t in total last year, expecting to consume about 800t in April, in line with March. They hold 500t of stocks in hand now, on par with a month ago.
Another consumer in South China state, "We failed to purchase about 100t of antimony concentrate 50%min at RMB88,000/mt (USD12,144/mt) EXW D/P this week, while the supplier accepted to sell at such price last week". The consumer add that the supplier raise their prices to RMB90,000/mt (USD12,420/mt) now and have no intention to sell now due to continuous upward trend. This week, they failed to purchase any materials at prices below RMB90,000/mt (USD12,420/mt) and last purchase about 64t at RMB84,000/mt (USD11,592/mt) early this month. On account of strong intentions to keep prices firm from suppliers, the consumer predicts that the mainstream prices of Chinese antimony concentrate 50%min would increase further in the coming week.
