Baosteel sees 4% rise in annual steel billets production and sales

Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. (Baosteel) reported production of 11.88 million tonnes of iron and 13.10 million tonnes of crude steel in the first quarter of 2024, when its quarterly sales of commercial steel billets reached 12.52 million tonnes. The company achieved export orders of 1.52 million tonnes during the first quarter, which exceeded target. It sold 7.31 million tonnes of "1+1+N" steel products in Q1, up by 16.5% from the year-ago period. The company also provided an annual production guidance for 2024, including 49.06 million tonnes of iron, 51.5 million tonnes of crude steel, and 52.22 million tonnes of steel billets.
According to Baosteel's 2023 annual report, the company produced 51.94 million tonnes and sold 51.9 million tonnes of steel billets last year, up by 4.2% and 4.3% YoY respectively. The annual sales of "1+1+N" steel products increased by 10% to 27.92 million tonnes. Its annual sales of cold-rolled automotive sheet and silicon steel exceeded 9 million tonnes and 4 million tonnes respectively, and overseas sales reached 5.84 million tonnes, all hitting an historic high.
According to Baosteel's 2023 annual report, the company produced 51.94 million tonnes and sold 51.9 million tonnes of steel billets last year, up by 4.2% and 4.3% YoY respectively. The annual sales of "1+1+N" steel products increased by 10% to 27.92 million tonnes. Its annual sales of cold-rolled automotive sheet and silicon steel exceeded 9 million tonnes and 4 million tonnes respectively, and overseas sales reached 5.84 million tonnes, all hitting an historic high.
