BEIJING (Asian Metal) 28 Apr 24 - Chinese zinc die-casting alloy buyers hold back from purchasing as prices increased today. The current mainstream prices of Chinese zinc die-casting alloy zamak-3 stand at RMB23,050-23,250/t (USD3,175-3,202/t) EXW, up by about RMB360/t (USD3,169-3,197/t) from yesterday. Considering that most market participants would leave the market for holiday, insiders predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese zinc die-casting alloy would edge down in the coming week.
"Our clients hold watchful attitudes as prices increased, we did not close any deals today, while we sold about 30-60tpd this week", said a producer in Zhejiang, who quotes RMB23,290/t (USD3,208/t) delivered D/P with freight of RMB50/t (USD6.9/t) with no concessions for zinc die-casting alloy zamak-3 today and refused prices less than at RMB22,930/t (USD3,158/t) yesterday. They last sold about 60t at RMB22,930/t (USD3,158/t) yesterday. They predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese zinc die-casting alloy would edge down in the coming week considering that most market participants would leave the market for holiday.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of 100,000t of zinc die-casting alloy, plans to produce about 1,100t in April almost stable from last month. They produced about 2,500t till now in 2024 and almost 10,000t in 2023. They hold no stocks presently, unchanged MoM.
Another producer in Guangdong noted that they quote RMB23,340/t (USD3,215/t) EXW D/P for zinc die-casting alloy zamak-3 today and could accept prices no less than RMB23,240/t (USD3,201/t) to regular clients, while they would like to sell at RMB22,880/t (USD3,152/t) yesterday. "We fail to close any deals today and sold about 400t at RMB22,880/t (USD3,152/t) yesterday", said the producer, who could sell at least about 100tpd this week. Given that most market participants would leave the market for holiday, they predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese zinc die-casting alloy would edge down in the week to come.
