BEIJING (Asian Metal) 24 Apr 24 – The Chinese market sees tight recycled battery supply at present. The current mainstream prices of Chinese recycled deep cycle battery hover at RMB9,750-9,900/t (USD1,346-1,366/t) Ex-vat delivered D/P and those of recycled start-type battery stand at RMB8,900-9,050/t (USD1,228-1,249/t) Ex-vat delivered D/P, steadily up from last week
A consumer from Yinchuan pointed out: "Today we purchased 300t of recycled start-type battery at a price of RMB9,570/t (USD1,321/t) Inc-vat delivered, while yesterday we bought 200t of the material at RMB9,350/t (USD1,291/t)". Considering tight supply of recycled start-type battery, they expect that prices of Chinese recycled start-type battery might still go up within this week.
With an annual consumption capacity of 90,000t of recycled battery, the consumer would use about 8,000t in April, up by around 2,000t from last month, and holds an inventory of about 1,000t at the moment, on par with late last month.
A consumer from Shanxi reported: "We purchased about 1,000t of recycled deep cycle battery at RMB9,950/t (USD1,373/t) Inc-vat delivered today and nearly 1,500t at RMB9,750/t (USD1,346/t) last Thursday". In view of the fact that most supplies raised prices due to tight supply, they estimate that prices of Chinese recycled deep cycle battery would move up within this week.
Based on an annual consumption capacity of 500,000t of recycled battery, the consumer would consume 39,000t in April, a decrease of 4,000t from last month.
. Insiders predict that mainstream prices of Chinese recycled battery would keep rising within this week supported by tight supply.
