Ganluo Tengtai resumes green silicon carbide production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 19 Apr 24 – As a major green silicon carbide producers in Sichuan, Gnaluoxian Tengtai Silicon Carbide Co., Ltd., resumed their production for green silicon carbide since 15th A April, expecting to produce nearly 300t this month.
"Although most producers in Sichuan still under suspension due to high electricity charges this year, with the support policy of local government, we resumed production since 15th April", a source in the company revealed, adding that they predict to produce about 800t next month.
Having a current annual production capacity of 12,000t, they produced about 5,800t in 2023, and expect to produce 6,000t this year. They have no inventory at the moment.
The current mainstream prices of green silicon carbide 98.5%min 10-30cm Fe2O3 0.45%max free C 0.18%max stand at RMB10,300/t (USD1,454/t) EXW D/A 180 days in Sichuan, in line with early this week. Despite the weak market demand, considering the high production costs, insiders anticipate that the mainstream prices of Chinese green silicon carbide would stay steady in the coming week.
