Chinese copper concentrate prices up

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 19 Apr 24 - Supported by tight supply for copper ore in the international market, prices of copper concentrate in the Chinese market go up. Mainstream copper concentrate prices in the domestic market stand at RMB71,300-73,500/metal ton (USD9,849-10,153/metal ton) currently, up by around RMB650/metal ton (USD89.79/metal ton) from yesterday.
"The orders we signed are long-term orders and the pricing coefficient is 92%. We sold 55 metal tons of copper concentrate at RMB71,300/metal ton (USD9,849/metal ton) today and 50 metal tons of the material at RMB70,400/metal ton (USD9,724/metal ton) yesterday," a producer in Sichuan disclosed, adding that their copper concentrate contains 21%-22% of copper, about 150g of silver and 50% of sulfur.
With an annual production capacity of 30,000 metal tons, the producer produced 1,600 metal tons last month, expecting to keep the output unchanged MoM in April.
A Guangdong-based producer said, "The pricing coefficient is 94.8% now, up by 2.3% from last month. We sold about 200 metal tons of copper concentrate at RMB73,470/metal ton (USD10,148/metal ton) today and about 120 metal tons at RMB72,500/metal ton (USD10,014/metal ton) yesterday."
With an annual production capacity of 15,000 metal tons, the producer expects to have an output of 1,000 metal tons this month, the same as last month. They hold no stocks at the moment.
