BEIJING (Asian Metal) 19 Apr 24 - Most producers hold their prices firm this week for flat sales. The current mainstream prices of Chinese magnesia brick 92%min stand at RMB2,700-2,800/t (USD375-389/t) EXW D/A 180 days, in line with last week. Considering that most producers still intend to keep their prices stable, insiders predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese magnesia brick would remain steady in the coming week.
A producer in Liaoning keeps their quotation unchanged at RMB2,750/t (USD382/t) EXW D/A 180 days with no concession for magnesia brick 92%min over the past week. "Despite the thin margin, we still hold the price stable this week as almost all of our regular clients show firm refusals to higher prices," the producer disclosed, adding that they last sold around 44t yesterday and about 26t a week ago both at RMB2,700/t (USD375/t). They still intend to hold their price firm and believe that the mainstream prices of Chinese magnesia brick would remain steady in the coming week.
Based on a production capacity of 30,000tpy, they produced about 8,000t in 2023 and expect to produce less than 4,000t in 2024. They predict to produce about 300t in April, in line with March. Now they hold about 100t in stock, basically unchanged from a month ago.
A producer in Henan holds their offer for magnesia brick 92%min firm at RMB3,100/t (USD430/t) EXW D/A 180 days with a concession of RMB50/t (USD7/t) at most in the past week. "We purchase dead burned magnesia 92%min and fused magnesia 92%min from Liaoning with the freight of about RMB250/t (USD35/t)," the producer revealed, adding that they closed no deal so far this week and last sold about 100t at RMB3,050/t (USD423/t) late last month. Despite the slight price increase of raw materials, they still plan to hold their price steady and predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese magnesia brick would keep firm in the coming week.
With an annual production capacity of 20,000t, they produced about 6,000t in 2023 and about 1,500t so far in 2024. They predict to produce about 400t in April, in line with March. Presently they have no inventory, unchanged from late last month.
