Jinding Steel enlarges plate production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 18 Apr 24 - Hebei Wu'an Jinding Steel Co. (Jinding Steel), the subsidiary of Jinan Steel Group, estimates that the output of steel plate would achieve about 120,000t in April, up from 100,000t in March.
"We run the only 2,500mm steel plate production line fully this month, with the output reaching around 4,000t, against 3,500t in March. Therefore, the output in April would see the MoM rise of 20,000t to 120,000t," noted a sales official from Jinding Steel. Meanwhile, the source points out that the demand from machinery and infrastructure industries recovers gradually and the sales performance improves this week.
On Wednesday, Jinding Steel lifted ex-works prices of steel plate Q235B 14-25mm to RMB3,770/t (USD521/t) from RMB3,740/t (USD517/t). Besides, the mill stopped selling in the afternoon seeing the quick price rebound.
Reporting an annual production capacity of 1.5 million tons, Jinding Steel recorded the output of approximately 1.2 million tons in 2023 and 243,000t in the first quarter of 2024. The mill holds zero inventory for the moment.
