Yuhua Steel to increase HR strip production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 17 Apr 24 - Wu'an Yuhua Iron and Steel Co. (Yuhua Steel), one of the major HR strip producers in Hebei, would raise the output by about 20,000t MoM to around 400,000t this month, disclosed a source of the company.
"Because of increased orders, we plan to expand the production of HR strip by about 20,000t MoM to around 400,000t in April," revealed the source. According to him, they have zero stock in hand now against the inventory of about 20,000t last month.
Based on one HR strip production line of 1,250mm rolling mill and the annual production capacity of about five million tonnes, the company produces HR strip with the width of 1,010-1,260mm. They witnessed an output of around 4.43 million tonnes of HR strip in 2023 and produced about 1.12 million tonnes in Q1 of this year.
The mainstream prices of HR strip SPHC 1,010mm*3.0mm*C from Yuhua Steel remained at about RMB3,730/t (USD515/t) D/P in warehouse Handan on Tuesday, unchanged from Monday. Insiders expect Chinese HR strip prices to move up in the coming week mainly supported by increased raw material prices.
