BEIJING (Asian Metal) 16 Apr 24 - As prices for raw materials show uptrend, Chinese titanium tetrachloride suppliers raise their prices accordingly in the past week
"As chlorine prices increase, we quote RMB6,800/t (USD939/t) EXW D/A 180 days for titanium tetrachloride 99.99%min and accept RMB6,600/t (USD912/t) for orders no less than 1,000t at the moment, while we would like to sell at RMB6,700/t (USD926/t) and could consider RMB6,500/t (USD898/t) for the same quantity early last week", said a producer in Hubei. They last sold around 1,000t to a regular client at about RMB6,500/t (USD905/t) early last week. Considering higher production cost, the producer plans to raise their price by around RMB100/t (USD14/t) next week and predicts that the mainstream prices would increase by around RMB100/t (USD14/t) in the coming week.
The producer, based on an annual production capacity of 400,000t, expects to produce around 8,000t in April up by 1,000t from last month. They produced nearly 104,000t in 2023 and around 24,000t so far in 2024 . They hold around 500t of stocks at present, down by 500t from early this month.
A consumer in Hebei notes that most regular suppliers quote RMB6,800/t (USD939/t) EXW D/A 180 days for titanium tetrachloride 99.99%min and could consider RMB6,700/t (USD926/t) if they could purchase no less than 30t at the moment, while the suppliers offered RMB6,700/t (USD926/t) and the most competitive price remained at around RMB6,600/t (USD912/t) for the same quantity early last week. "We last bought about 60t at around RMB6,800/t (USD939/t) delivered with a freight of RMB200/t (USD28/t) early last week", said the consumer. As most producers stay in no hurry to sell at low prices, the consumer predicts that the mainstream prices would increase by around RMB100/t (USD14/t) in the following week.
