Tianquan Shunhe to resume green silicon carbide production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 15 Apr 24 - As a primary green silicon carbide producers in Sichuan, Tianquanxian Shunhe Silicon Carbide Co., Ltd., expect to resume their green silicon carbide production in late April, and they plan to produce about 700t next month.
"As the hydrate power supply restored in early April, we estimate to resume production since late April", an insider from the company released, adding that they estimate to produce about 700t in May.
With a yearly production capacity of 14,400t at present, the company has an output of nearly 5,000t in 2023 and they expect to have same production scale this year. They have no stock for the time being.
The mainstream prices of green silicon carbide 98.5%min 10-30cm Fe2O3 0.45%max free C 0.18%max stand at RMB10,200/t (USD1,440/t) EXW D/A 180 days in Sichuan at the moment, without much changes from early this week. Despite the dim end market, supported by the firm production costs, insiders predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese green silicon carbide would keep stable in the week to come.
