Ketong cuts calcium silicon output

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 11 Apr 24 - As one of major calcium silicon producers in China, Ningxia Ketong New Materials suspended one furnace's production in early April, and the output of calcium silicon would halve against March to around 1,300t this month, disclosed a source from the company.
"We stopped one furnace early last week to do the regular maintenance for around one month, and our output in April would reach about 1,300t, down by around 1,300t from March", revealed the source.
With an annual production capacity of 48,000t for calcium silicon, the producer expects to produce about 1,300t in April, a decrease of around 1,300t against March. The producer owns three furnaces of 33,000kVA in total with one of them running regularly now.
The current mainstream prices of calcium silicon 30-60 10-50mm in China moved up by RMB200/t (USD29/t) to RMB10,500-10,800/t (USD1,542-1,494/t) EXW D/A 180 days against early last week.
