Yangquan Hongtairui resumes calcined bauxite production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 9 Apr 24 - A calcined bauxite producer in Shanxi, Yangquan Hongtairui Refractory Materials Co., Ltd., resumed the production of calcined bauxite since 1st April and they plan to produce about 1,000t in April.
"We stopped production since late January because of the safety inspection and environmental protectional inspection. As market demand turns better, we resumed production about a week ago", an insider from the company reveals, noting that they estimate to produce around 1,000t this month.
With an annual production capacity of 30,000t, the company produced about 6,000t in 2023, and expect to produce about 10,000t this year. They hold stocks of nearly 100t at present.
The current mainstream prices of calcined bauxite 85%min 1-3mm Fe2O3 1.5%max K2O+Na2O 0.4%max B.D. 3.3min stand at RMB2,450-2,550/t (USD342-356/t) Ex-VAT EXW D/P in Yangquan, unmoved from early this week. Despite the soft market demand, given the bauxite tight supply, they predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese calcined bauxite would stay steady in the upcoming week.
