Zhaobo Industrial to increase HR strip production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 9 Apr 24 - Tianjin Zhaobo Industrial Co. (Zhaobo Industrial), one of the major HR strip producers in Tianjin, would expand the production to around 60,000t in April.
"We stopped the production from March 9th to March 19th and just produced about 40,000t of HR strip last month," said a source of the company, adding that the planned output for this month would reach around 60,000t. According to him, they have a stockpile of about 16,000t in hand now, up by around 1,000t MoM.
Based on one HR strip production line of 650mm rolling mill, Zhaobo Industrial produces HR strip with the width of 180-413mm and thickness of 1.5-5.75mm. With an annual production capacity of about 800,000t, the company recorded an output of around 430,000t of HR strip in 2023 and produced about 62,000t in the first quarter of this year.
The mainstream prices of HR strip Q195 235mm*2.5mm*C from Zhaobo Industrial remained at about RMB3,620/t (USD500/t) D/P in warehouse Tianjin on Monday, unchanged from last Sunday. Insiders expect Chinese HR strip prices to go down in the coming week on soft demand and decreased raw material prices.
