Yiyang Zhongxing halted selenium powder production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 8 Apr 24 - One of major selenium powder 99.9%min producers in Hunan, China, Yiyang Zhongxing Non-metallic Materials Co. halted selenium powder 99.9%min production since late March and expects to resume the production late this month, a source from the company disclosed to Asian Metal.
The producer says, "We halted the production in late last month due to overhaul and plan to resume the production late this month." They intend to produce almost 50t next month.
The producer, based on a production capacity of 700tpy of selenium powder 99.9%min, produced around 40t in March. They hold no stock now, unchanged from the end of last month.
Currently, the mainstream prices of Chinese selenium powder 99.9%min stand at RMB181-186/kg (USD11.34-11.66/lb) EXW D/P, the same as early last week. With increasing prices of crude selenium 95%min, insiders forecast that the prevailing prices of Chinese selenium powder 99.9%min would show an uptrend in the coming week.
