Shimian Tenglong to resume green silicon carbide production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 8 Apr 24 – As a major green silicon carbide producers in Sichuan, Shimian Tenglong Solar Energy Technology Co., Ltd. plans to resume the green silicon carbide production in mid-April, expecting to produce about 300t this month.
"As the wet season started, the supply of hydrate power would start since this month and thus we plan to resume production within two weeks", an insider in the company reveals, noting that they estimate to produce about 600t next month.
With an annual production capacity of 12,000t, they produced about 5,000t last year, and expect to produce about same in 2024. They had no stock at present.
The current mainstream prices of green silicon carbide 98.5%min 10-30cm Fe2O3 0.45%max free C 0.18%max stand at RMB10,100/t (USD1,422/t) EXW D/A 180 days in Sichuan, in line with early this week. Despite the weak downstream demand, considering the high production costs, insiders predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese green silicon carbide would keep stable in the week to come.
