BEIJING (Asian Metal) 3 Apr 24 - Ganzhou Jiexing Material Technology Co, a primary producer of LMO in China, plans to decrease their output in April to about 1,800t, down by about 100t MoM, a source from the company revealed to Asian Metal.
"As we did not reach an agreement on price with several customers, we refused their orders. Therefore, we expect the production volume of LMO to decrease this month", claimed the producer, who bought 30t of lithium carbonate 99.2%min at RMB105,000/t (USD14,511/t) delivered D/P yesterday.
Based on an annual production capacity of 30,000t and no inventory, the producer estimates to produce around 1,800t in April, down by about 100t MoM. They produced approximately 8,300t in total in 2023.
Currently, the prevailing prices of Chinese LMO stand at RMB38,000-40,000/t (USD5,251-5,528/t) delivered D/A 180 days, the same as late last week. Taking the upward prices of lithium carbonate into consideration, insiders anticipate that the prevailing prices of Chinese LMO would go up marginally this week.
