BEIJING (Asian Metal) 29 Mar 24 - Apogee Core Mining Services Ltd, a major chrome ore producer in South Africa, would resume production of chrome ore in May. They would produce about 5,000t of chrome concentrate in May.
"We would resume production of chrome ore in May", a source from the company disclosed and explained that they finally solved the funds and equipment problems.
The company has its own dressing plant, could produce about 5,000t of chrome concentrate and 20,000t of chrome ROM monthly.
The current mainstream prices of chrome concentrate 40%min stand at Rand3,400-3,600/t (USD179-189/t) in Johannesburg warehouse, stable from early last week. Most buyers purchased actively at the moment. Given that most sellers have on intention to adjust prices, insiders predict that the mainstream prices of South African chrome ore would keep flat in the week to come.
