Zhengzhou Yuzhou resumes white fused alumina production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 28 Mar 24 - As a white fused alumina producer in Henan, Zhengzhou Yuzhou New Materials Co., Ltd., resumed their white fused alumina production since 15th March, expecting to produce about 600t in March.
"We stopped production since 20th January due to sluggish market demand and high production costs. As market demand turns better in March, we resumed production about two weeks ago", an insider in the company states, noting that they plan to produce about 1,000t in April.
With an annual production capacity of 30,000t, they produced about 6,300t in 2023 and expect to produce about 5,000t this year given the dim end market. Currently they have about 300t in stock.
The mainstream prices of white fused alumina 99%min 1-3mm Fe2O3 0.08%max Na2O 0.35%max SiO2 0.1%max currently hover at RMB4,700/t (USD662/t) EXW D/P in Henan, without much changes from early this week. Despite the dormant market demand, given the firm alumina prices, insiders believe that the mainstream prices of Chinese white fused alumina would keep steady in the following week.
