Chinese basic TCs for zinc concentrate edge down

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 27 Mar 24 – Most Chinese seller of zinc concentrate decreased basic TCs for zinc concentrate due to tight supply. The current mainstream basic TCs for zinc concentrate 50%min stand at RMB3,500-3,800/metal ton (USD485-526/metal ton) delivered D/P in Inner Mongolia, down by about RMB300/metal ton (USD42/metal ton) from late last week. Most buyers purchase actively at the moment, insiders predict that the mainstream basis TCs for zinc concentrate would keep flat within a month.
A producer in Inner Mongolia noted that they decreased basic TCs for zinc concentrate 50%min by about RMB200/metal ton (USD28/metal ton) delivered D/P to about RMB3,550/metal ton (USD492/metal ton) this week. "Most buyers are looking for zinc concentrate now, the supply of zinc concentrate maintained tight", said the producer, who sold about 2,000 metal tons with basic TC at RMB3,550/metal ton (USD492/metal ton) this week. They predict that the mainstream basis TCs for zinc concentrate would keep flat within a month.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 metal tons of zinc concentrate, would produce about 6,000 metal tons in March, almost stable from last month. They hold no stocks at the moment, unchanged MoM.
A trader in Guangxi noted that they decreased basic TCs for zinc concentrate 50%min by about RMB300/metal ton (USD42/metal ton) to RMB4,000/metal ton (USD554/metal ton) delivered D/P this week. "We sell about 2,000 metal tons of zinc concentrate with basic TC at RMB4,000/metal ton (USD554/metal ton) this week", said the trader, who anticipates that the mainstream basis TCs for zinc concentrate would keep stable within a month.
