Tianzhu Juxin resumes black silicon carbide production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 27 Mar 24 - As a silicon carbide producer in Gnasu, Tianzhu Juxin Silicon Carbide Co., Ltd., resumed the production of black silicon carbide since 15th March, expecting to produce about 1,000t in April.
"We halted production in early February due to the weak market demand and resumed production since mid-March as the market demand turns warm", an insider in the company reveals, adding that they plan to produce about 1,000t next month.
Having an annual production capacity of 30,000t, they produced about 10,000t in 2023 and they estimate to produce about 8,000t in 2024 given the dim end market. They hold nearly 400t in stock at present.
The current mainstream prices for black silicon carbide 98%min 10-30cm Fe2O3 0.5%max free C 0.2%max in Gansu stand at RMB6,100/t (USD845/t) EXW D/A 180 days, unchanged from late last week. Despite the low market demand, given the lifted electricity costs, they anticipate that the mainstream prices of Chinese black silicon carbide would keep steady in the upcoming week.
