CMOC's TFM mixed ore project in DRC has reached full production capacity with peak daily production of 678t of copper and 36t of cobalt in March, up by 16
TFM copper-cobalt mine is the biggest project invested by China in DRC with a total investment of USD2.51 million . It consists of a 5 . 6Mtpa mixed ore production line and a 3 . 3Mtpa oxidized ore production line at the east region, and a 3 . 5Mtpa mixed ore production line at the central region, which already met its production target in August 2023.
There are currently five copper-cobalt production lines at TFM project, with ore processing capacity rising from 15,000t to 63,000t a day and its annual copper output exceeding 450,000t, making it to the top ten biggest copper mine and second largest cobalt mine in the world, just after CMOC's KFM mine. With TFM and KFM reaching full production in 2024, CMOC expects to increase copper production by 100,000-150,000t this year.
