Xingyang Xinsheng resumes white fused alumina production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 21 Mar 24 - As a white fused alumina producer in Henan, Xingyang Xinsheng Abrasive Materials Co.,Ltd., resumes their white fused alumina production since 10th March and they expect to produce about 500t in March.
"We suspended production since late December to maintain our smelting furnaces and resumed production on 10th March after the work completed", a source from the company says, noting that they predict to have an output of about 500t in March.
With a production capacity of 13,500tpy, they produced about 7,000t in 2023 and expect to produce about 6,000t this year given the dim end market. They hold about 200t in stock for the time being.
The current mainstream prices of white fused alumina 99%min 1-3mm Fe2O3 0.08%max Na2O 0.35%max SiO2 0.1%max stand at RMB4,720/t (USD665/t) EXW D/P in Henan, without much changes from early this week. In light of the decreasing alumina prices, most producers intend to cut their prices to compete for orders and foresee that the Chinese white fused alumina mainstream prices would move down in the following week.
