Mianchi Jintai resumes white fused alumina production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 20 Mar 24 – Mianchi Jintai Fused alumina Co.,Ltd., a white fused alumina producer in Henan, they resumed production since 7th March and they expect to produce around 500t in March.
"We had planned to resume production in late February, but due to the sluggish market demand, we resumed production since 7th March", a source in the company reveals, noting that they expect to have an output of nearly 500t this month.
Having a production capacity of 20,000tpy, they produced about 5,000t in 2023 and expect to produce about 10,000t in 2024. They have an inventory of nearly 100t at the moment.
The mainstream prices of white fused alumina 99%min 1-3mm Fe2O3 0.08%max Na2O 0.35%max SiO2 0.1%max currently stand at RMB4,700/t (USD662/t) EXW D/P in Henan, without much changes from late last week. Given the decreasing alumina prices and the soft market demand, most producers intend to cut their prices for stable sales and predict that the Chinese white fused alumina mainstream prices would move down in the upcoming week.
