Ningxia Hexing resumes black silicon carbide production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 15 Mar 24 - As a major black silicon carbide producer in China, Ningxia Hexing Carbon Materials Co., Ltd. resumed their black silicon carbide production on 7th March, expecting to produce about 1,000t in March.
"We suspended production since 1st December, 2023 due to the fierce competition and thin profit. As the market demand turns better, we resumed production since 7th March", an insider from the company reveals, adding that they plan to produced about 1,000t this month.
Having a present annual production capacity of 75,000t, they produced about 40,000t in 2023 and estimate to produce around 40,000t this year. They hold about 7,000t in stock at the moment.
The current mainstream prices of black silicon carbide 98%min 0-10mm Fe2O3 0.5%max free C 0.2%max stand at RMB6,800/t (USD945/t) EXW D/A 180 days in Ningxia, in line with early this week. Despite the warm market, in order to maintain orders, insiders forecast that the mainstream prices of Chinese black silicon carbide would keep steady in the upcoming week.
