Yingfeng to resume fused magnesia production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 13 Mar 24 - Anshan Yingfeng New Material Co., one of the fused magnesia producer in Liaoning, halted production in early February, now plans to resume production in early April, at least 1 month later than they did in normal years.
"We decide to delay the resumption of production by 1 month to early April due to the slow sales," a source from the company revealed, explaining that they halted production in early February due to the Chinese Spring Festival.
With 6 electric arc furnaces of 4,000kva and a production capacity of 40,000tpy, they produced about 35,000t in 2023 and about 3,000t so far in 2024. At present, they hold about 2,800t in stock, down by about 300t from late last month.
The current mainstream prices of Chinese fused magnesia 97%min (Ca:Si=2:1) stand at RMB2,970-3,070/t (USD412-416/t) EXW D/A 180 days, unchanged from last week. Considering the firm production cost, insiders predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese H-Ca fused magnesia would stay firm in the coming week.
