Xinjiang Longtenghaitai resumes green silicon carbide production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 12 Mar 23 - Xinjiang Longtenghaitai Ceramics Technology Co., Ltd., a major green silicon carbide producer from Xinjiang, resumed their green silicon carbide production since 1st March, expect to produce 800t this month.
"We stopped our production since 31st January to start the Chinese Lunar New Year holiday and resumed production since 1st March", a source from the company states, noting that they plan to produce about 800t this month.
Having an annual production capacity of 18,000tpy, they company produced around 10,000t in 2022, and about 11,000t in 2023. They have an inventory of nearly 200t at present.
The mainstream prices of green silicon carbide 98.5%min 0-10mm Fe2O3 0.45%max free C 0.18%max stand at RMB10,400/t (USD1,447/t) EXW D/A 180 days in Xinjiang, on par with late last week. Although the market demand stays weak, given the firm production costs, insiders predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese green silicon carbide would keep stable in the week to come.
