Shandong Xianghai to expand titanium dioxide production capacity

Shandong Xianghai Titanium Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shandong Lubei Chemical Co., Ltd., plans to invest RMB719 million (USD99.88 million) to build a 60,000tpa chloride process titanium dioxide project as Lubei Chemical seeks to further boost titanium dioxide production capacity and market share.
The subsidiary plans to add 172 units of production equipment with a total capacity of 60,000 tonnes per annum of chloride process rutile titanium dioxide at its existing plant, which also has a production capacity of 60,000tpa. The new project will also produce chlorine with an annual capacity of 20,000 tonnes. Construction of the project would take 24 months, and when fully operational, it is expected to achieve an annual operating revenue of RMB1.32 billion (USD183 million).
