Guizhou Galuminium to resume gallium metal production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 6 Mar 24 - Guizhou Galuminium Alumina Co., located in Guiyang, Guizhou, expected to resume gallium metal 99.99%min production late this week, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
The source said, "We suspended gallium metal 99.99%min production since early February due to the bauxite shortage and estimated to resume the production within this week". They produced around 1.6t in January and had no output lasts month.
The company, who mainly produces alumina, has a designed production capacity of 40tpy of gallium metal 99.99%min. They estimated to produce 3t a month for selling after they resume the production.
Currently, the mainstream prices of Chinese gallium metal 99.99%min slid to RMB2,150-2,200/kg (USD298.85-305.80/kg) EXW D/P, down by RMB10/kg from late last week. Insiders predicted that the prevailing prices of Chinese gallium metal 99.99%min would go soft in the upcoming days due to the watchful attitudes from the downstream.
