Haicheng Xinhe resumes production of caustic calcined magnesia

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 6 Mar 24 – Haicheng Xinhe Magnesia Products Co., one of caustic calcined magnesia producers in Liaoning, resumed production of caustic calcined magnesia early this month and would produce about 1,000t in March.
"We resumed production of caustic calcined magnesia early this month and would produce about 1,000t in March, up by about 1,000t from last month," a source from the company disclosed, adding that they suspended production since early last month due to few orders.
They have six shaft kiln of φ4*15m, four of them run currently. The producer, based on an annual production capacity of 60,000t for caustic calcined magnesia, produced about 18,000t in 2023 and around 1,000t so far this year, holding an inventory of 1,500t at the moment.
The current mainstream prices of Chinese caustic calcined magnesia 90%min 200 mesh stand at RMB920-950/t(USD128-132/t) EXW D/A 180 days, unchanged from late last week. Although the market saw weak demand during the past week, most producers insisted on their prices stable in view of firm production cost. Thus, insiders predicted that the mainstream prices of Chinese caustic calcined magnesia 90%min would keep stable in the coming week.
