Haidong Hongshi resumes construction of silicon materials project

Haidong Hongshi Semiconductor Co., Ltd. has resumed construction of the 100,000tpa polysilicon project, the phase one of its silicon materials project.
As of February 28, around 2,000 workers and 200 staff members have been in place for the project, with more expected by mid-March. The project is expected to finish construction and go into operation by the end of this September and the phase one, when completed, would achieve an annual production value of nearly RMB9 billion (USD1.25 billion).
The project is located at Zero Carbon Industrial Park in Hehuang New District, Haidong City, covering an area of 202.2 hectares. With a total investment of RMB29.5 billion (USD4.10 billion), the project consists of three phases for 200,000tpa of polysilicon, 250,000tpa of industrial silicon and 3×5GW crystal pulling wafer production lines and associated cogeneration facilities. When fully operational, the project would achieve an annual sales revenue of nearly RMB18 billion (USD2.50 billion) and create around 1,800 jobs.
