China to launch supervision on industrial energy conservation

China will carry out supervision on industrial energy conservation in 2024, as the country seeks to further increase energy efficiency in key industrial sectors including petrochemical, nonferrous metals (primary aluminum, refined copper and silicon metal), and iron and steel (coking), according to a notice issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
A re-investigation has also been scheduled on companies that failed to meet the required standards or violate energy conservation laws and regulations found in last year's industrial energy conservation supervision, and those who didn't make rectifications as required or with rectifications not in place will be dealt with in accordance with laws and regulations, according to MIIT.
