Zhong'an Copper to build copper anode and rod project

The Department of Ecology and Environment of Jiangxi Province plans to give initial approval to Guixi Zhong'an Copper Co., Ltd. to build the 100,000tpa copper anode and 100,000tpa high-performance copper rod project, and the the environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the project has been released for public disclosure.
According to the EIA, the company acquired a copper recycling project from Guixi Hengpeng Metal Processing Co., Ltd. and relocated the asset to Guixi economic development zone for further development. The upgraded project uses copper scrap as the main raw material to produce copper anode through anode furnace melting and disc casting process, with copper anode capacity increasing from 50,000tpa to 100,000tpa. The project will also add capacity of 100,000tpa of high-quality copper rod, which are produced through the anode furnace refining and continuous casting and rolling process, mainly using red copper scrap and phosphor copper as the raw materials.
