Zenith Nantong to replace 750ktpa of steel capacity

In accordance with relevant guidelines and implementation measures issued by the State Council, the steelmaking capacity replacement scheme by Zenith Steel Group (Nantong) Co., Ltd. has been made public by the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Jiangsu Province.
Zenith Nantong plans to build a 100-ton electric furnace with steelmaking capacity of 750,000 tonnes per annum (Mtpa) through a capacity replacement program where Wuxi Xinsanzhou Special Steel Co., Ltd. would close two 50-ton rotary furnaces with a combined capacity of around 1.1Mtpa and Zenith Steel Group Co., Ltd. would shut down capacity of 42,500tpa, of which 1.125Mtpa will be replaced at the ratio of 1.5:1.
Construction of the new furnace is scheduled to begin in June 2024, with capacity expected to come on stream in April 2025.
