Hanrui Cobalt to develop 20ktpa nickel project in Indonesia

Hanrui Cobalt's wholly-owned subsidiary Hanrui Cobalt (HK) Investment Limited plans to enter into a joint venture agreement with Huaxin Investment Co., Ltd. to set up a joint venture at the Baoshuo Taman Industrial Park in Morowali, Sulawesi Tengah, Indonesia.
Indonesia Hanrui Nickel, the joint venture, will be in charge of the construction and operation of a high grade nickel matte project using oxygen-enriched continuous blowing method, with an annual production capacity of 20,000t of nickel in matte. Total investment for the project is approximately USD243 million.
Hanrui Cobalt also decided to terminate the 60,000tpa nickel project that adopts the HPAL process due to the transition to a superior process of nickel smelting.
