China's first 6mm Zn-Mg-Al HDG steel sheet production line put into operation

Inner Mongolia Biaoda New Material Technology Development Co., Ltd. has put into operation its production line with phase one capacity of 350,000tpa of Zn-Mg-Al hot-dip galvanized steel sheet. With a total investment of RMB200 million (USD27.33 million), the production line is the first of its kind in China capable of producing Zn-Mg-Al hot-dip galvanized steel sheet with thickness of 6mm.
So far, steel sheet products with thickness of 0.8mm, 1mm, 1.5mm, 1.8mm, 2mm and 2.5mm have come off the production line. The company plans to increase the production line's capacity to 1.1 million tonnes per annum through three phases in Baotou. When fully operational, the production line is able to produce 30,000tpm of Zn-Mg-Al hot-dip galvanized steel sheet with thickness of 0.8mm-6mm.
The company has signed orders of roughly 20,000t of the products, including the first batch of 8,000t, which will be mainly used for solar panel bracket.
