Shougang's H1 electrical steel production up by 18% YoY

Shougang reported total production of 3.13 million tonnes of electrical steel, automotive steel sheet and tin (chrome) plated steel in the first half of 2023. The three key strategic products accounted for 27% of the company's total steel products output during the period. The H1 production of electrical steel, automotive steel sheet and tin (chrome) plated steel was 848,200 tonnes, 1,946,800 tonnes and 329,700 tonnes respectively, up by around 18%, 8% and 11% from the year-ago period.
The H1 production of the company's other nine key products, including special steel for cold rolling, hot rolled pickling plate, weathering resistant steel, energy-purposed steel, auto structure steel, high-strength steel for engineering machinery, pipeline steel, bridge steel and shipbuilding steel plate, totaled 4.61 million tonnes, accounting for 39% of the total production.
During the first half, the production of the above-mentioned products totaled 7.74 million tonnes, which accounted for 66% of the company's total output, up by 4 percentage points YoY.
The H1 production of the company's other nine key products, including special steel for cold rolling, hot rolled pickling plate, weathering resistant steel, energy-purposed steel, auto structure steel, high-strength steel for engineering machinery, pipeline steel, bridge steel and shipbuilding steel plate, totaled 4.61 million tonnes, accounting for 39% of the total production.
During the first half, the production of the above-mentioned products totaled 7.74 million tonnes, which accounted for 66% of the company's total output, up by 4 percentage points YoY.
