1 Market Highlights
The mainstream prices of Chinese zinc ingot increased in the first half of June but moved down in the rest of the month discouraged by weak demand and watchful attitudes from the downstream.
The supply of Chinese zinc concentrate remained tight on the whole as miners, especially those in North China, faced safety inspections. Most suppliers maintained stable TCs during the whole month. The downstream smelters, which maintain normal production, purchased regularly.
In June, the orders for zinc die-casting alloy from the downstream including clothing, sanitary ware, locks, automobiles, and other industries decreased as most consumers started to halt or reduce production due to weak demand.
In June, the zinc oxide market witnessed weak demand as the downstream rubber, tire, ceramic, and other industries received scarce orders.
In June, most zinc powder producers reduced or halted production to avoid overstocking as downstream clients held back from purchasing due to weak demand.
