China tightens export controls on gallium and germanium

China will impose restrictions on exports of industrial products and materials containing gallium and germanium from August 1 to ensure national security and interests, according to a joint announcement from the Minister of Commerce and the General Administration of Customs.

Exports of industrial materials, such as gallium metal, gallium nitride, gallium oxide, gallium phoshpide, gallium arsenide, InGaAs, gallium selenide, gallium antimonide, germanium metal, zone-refined germanium ingot, zinc germanium phosphide, germanium dioxide, germanium tetrachloride, cannot be exported without permission.
