Panzhihua Taihai Titanium Group resumes titanium dioxide production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 27 Apr 23 - One of the major titanium dioxide producers in Sichuan, Panzhihua Taihai Titanium Group resumed production of titanium dioxide early this week. The company expects to produce around 2,400t in April, down by 12,600t MoM.
"Since April 2nd, we suspended production because the local industrial park is out of gas," said a source from the company, adding that they resumed production again early this week as the gas supply returned to normal.
With an annual production capacity of 170,000t, the producer produced nearly 113,000t in 2022 and almost 62,300t so far in 2023. The company would produce around 2,400t in April, down by 12,600t from last week.
Recently, the mainstream prices for rutile titanium dioxide 93%min in Sichuan province hover at RMB15,600-16,100/t (USD2,253-2,325/t) EXW D/A 180 days at present, unchanged from early last week. Most downstream consumers hold wait-and-see attitudes and prefer to delay purchasing.
