Yingkou Shunhe to change the production of magnesia carbon brick

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 27 Apr 23 - Yingkou Shunhe Mineral Co., one of magnesia producers in Liaoning, plans to change the production of magnesia carbon brick in early next month.
"We would have a test production of magnesia carbon brick in early next month and decline the production of magnesia gradually at the same time," a source from the company noted, adding that their new magnesia carbon brick plant has an annual production capacity of 40,000t, and the equipment of magnesia would be considered for lease to other manufacturers on a cooperative basis.
The producer, based on a production capacity of 50,000tpy for fused magnesia and 70,000tpy for dead burned magnesia respectively, almost didn't produce in April, holding no inventory for the time being. Their products are mainly exported. Dead burned magnesia 90%min and large crystal fused magnesia 97.5%min are their main products.
Although the market kept soft demand in the past week, most producers of fused magnesia held their prices supported by production cost. Therefore, the mainstream export prices of Chinese fused magnesia 97.5%min 0-30mm (Ca:Si=2:1) large crystal stand at USD795-825/t FOB China, unchanged from last week. As most exporters still intend to keep their prices stable, insiders predict that the mainstream export prices of Chinese large crystal fused magnesia would level off in the coming week.
