BEIJING (Asian Metal) 26 Apr 23 – Most suppliers hold positive attitudes towards the market outlook due to the unchanged purchase prices of HC ferrochrome of steel mills in May. Currently, the mainstream prices for South African chrome concentrate 40%min stand at RMB54.5-55.5/dmtu (USD7.93-8.07/dmtu) in warehouse Tianjin, unchanged from early this week. Insiders predict the mainstream prices would increase in the coming week due to the positive attitudes.
A trader from North China mentioned that they hold positive attitudes towards the market prices and predict the mainstream prices would increase in the coming week. "We offer RMB56/dmtu (USD8.09/dmtu) for South African chrome concentrate 40%min with no concession at present, in line with early this week", adding the trader. They received inquiries today, but the customers refused to purchase after they quoted this price. They last sold around 1,000t of RMB56/dmtu (USD8.09/dmtu) in early March. They would move up their price in the coming week.
The trader, based on a regular monthly trading volume of 10,000t of South African chrome concentrate 40%min, did not conclude any deal so far in April, while they sold around 1,000t in March. They hold around 10,000t of stocks at present.
