Hunan Zhirong resumes antimony ingot production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 24 Apr 23 - Hunan Zhirong Antimony Industry Group Co., Ltd., one of major producers of antimony ingot 99.85%min in Hunan, plans to resume production after the Labour Day holiday and expects its production to reach 300t in May, a source from the company told Asian Metal.
The source said, "We plan to restart production of antimony ingot 99.85%min after the Labour Day holiday and might produce 300t in May. This will be the first resumption of production this year". The source added that Shizishan mine resumed normal production of antimony concentrate this February with monthly output now reaching 300t. The company plans to first resume operation of a blast furnace and a reverberatory furnace next month.
With an annual production capacity of 5,000t of antimony ingot 99.85%min, they produced about 2,500t in total last year and expect to produce around 300t in May when they will resume production for the first time of this year, They have no stocks in hand now, the same as a month ago.
Current mainstream prices for antimony ingot 99.85%min stand at RMB82,000-83,000/t (USD11,879-12,024/t) EXW D/P, unchanged from early this week. Given the firm price of raw material and the limited supply from spot market, upstream antimony ingot suppliers insist on holding their offers unmoved. However, in view of the slack purchases from end users, insiders believe that prices for Chinese antimony ingot 99.85%min would remain stable in the coming week.
