Tangshan Delong Steel reduces HR strip prices

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 12 Apr 23 - Tangshan Delong Iron and Steel Co. (Tangshan Delong Steel), a major HR strip producer in Tangshan, Hebei province, cut prices by RMB50/t (USD7/t) on April 11th
"We reduced HR strip prices by RMB50/t (USD7/t) yesterday mainly because of lower raw materials prices of steel billet," explained a source of the company. According to him, the mainstream prices of steel billet Q235 150mm*150mm in Tangshan went down by RMB50/t (USD7/t) on Monday to RMB3,750/t (USD545/t).
"The planned output of HR strip would remain at around 230,000t this month, unchanged from March," he added. Besides, they still have zero stock in hand at the moment, in line with last month.
With two HR strip production lines of 650mm rolling mill, Tangshan Delong Steel produces HR strip with the width of 262-400mm and thickness of 1.7-4 . 75mm . Based on the annual production capacity of about 3 . 6 million tonnes, the company produced about 2 . 65 million tonnes of HR strip in 2022 and around 670,000t in the first quarter of this year.
. After the decrease, the price of HR strip Q195 265-355mm*2.5mm*C dropped to RMB4,000/t (USD581/t) EXW D/P.
