BEIJING (Asian Metal) 5 Apr 23 - Although suppliers have no intention to purchase in bulk, Chinese neodymium metal suppliers held prices firm over the past five days. Therefore, the current Chinese neodymium metal mainstream prices stood at RMB675,000-685,000/t (USD98,075-99,528/t) EXW T/T 30 days, without much change from late last week. Encouraged by increasing PrNd mischmetal prices, Chinese neodymium metal suppliers intend to lift prices, so insiders forecasted that the Chinese neodymium metal mainstream prices would go up in the coming week.
A consumer in North China noted that his regular suppliers quote about RMB685,000/t (USD99.528/t) EXW T/T 30 days for neodymium metal to him at present. According to his experience, he could buy at around RMB680,000/t (USD98,801/t) at present, without much change from late last week, when he concluded his latest procurement of five tons at around RMB680,000/t (USD98,801/t). "I intend to hold a wait-and-see attitude towards the Chinese neodymium metal market in the coming week," said the consumer, who enquired that the Chinese PrNd mischmetal mainstream prices already rose by around RMB5,000/t (USD726/t) to RMB645,000/t (USD93,716/t) EXW T/T 30 days over the past one day. Therefore, he predicted that the Chinese neodymium metal mainstream prices would go up by around RMB10,000/t (USD1,453/t) in the coming week.
With an annual consumption capacity of 200t of neodymium metal, the producer expects to consume around five tons in April, without much change MoM. He consumed about 15t so far in 2023, compared with approximately 100t in 2022. He holds an inventory of around 10t now, in line with early March.
A consumer in South China claimed that his regular suppliers hold neodymium metal quotation to about RMB680,000/t (USD98,801/t) EXW T/T 30 days to him at the moment. Based on his experience, he could buy at around RMB675,000/t (USD98,075/t) now, without much change from late last week. "I last bought four tons at around RMB800,000/t (USD116,237/t) early last month," said the consumer, who only purchases no more than five tons every time due to abundant supply.
