Tianquan Shunhe to resume green silicon carbide production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 3 Apr 23 – Tianquanxian Shunhe Silicon Carbide Co., Ltd., one of the major green silicon carbide producers in Sichuan, plans to resume green silicon carbide production on 3rd April, expecting an output of 700t this month.
"We have been in suspension since late November 2020 due to sluggish market demand and we plan to resume production on 3rd April since the overseas market has increasing demand for green silicon carbide out of Xinjiang", a source from the company revealed, noting that they would produce the first batch of products on 8th April and expect to produce about 700t this month.
With a current production capacity of 14,400tpy, the company has no output in 2022, and expect to produce about 5,000t in 2023. They hold no stock at present.
The present prevailing prices of green silicon carbide 98.5%min 10-30cm Fe2O3 0.45%max free C 0.18%max stand at RMB14,500/t (USD2,110/t) EXW D/A 180 days in Sichuan, in line with early this week. Due to the sluggish market demand, the market witnesses limited deals. But in light of the high production costs, insiders hold the belief that the prevailing prices of Chinese green silicon carbide would stay stable in the week to come.
